Our story

A note from John

When my brother died, grief nearly swallowed me whole. I was eight years into leading a church, surrounded by community, and I still felt disoriented by the pain.

The birth of my daughter sparked hope. Then stories grew it. I heard from people who'd walked through loss and found a way forward. Not past their grief, but with it.

That's when I started asking a simple question: What if people had a safe, beautiful, and communal space to linger with their grief, without being consumed by it?

Since 2023, We Go On has gathered communities around that question. We’ve woven story, art, music, and laughter into events that have contributed to the restoration of hurting people.

Everyone suffers loss. But nobody should be expected to "get over it." We're here to help people move forward. Not by leaving grief behind, but by finding they were never meant to carry it alone.

“It felt safe to exist with other people who were going through the same thing and just saying it’s okay to be going through the same thing.”

Common questions

Is We Go On a nonprofit?

Yes! We Go On Studio is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and, as such, is eligible to receive tax-deductible donations and corporate matching gifts. Our Tax ID is #88 - 1030741 (Windows and Mirrors Resources Inc. d/b/a We Go On Studio)

Are you faith-based?

Many of us here have a faith story of our own. But We Go On exists for everyone who has experienced loss, regardless of background or belief. Leaders and attendees share diverse backgrounds across race, religion, and socioeconomic status.

Is this therapy or counseling?

No. We believe there’s a time and place for professional 1:1 support when it comes to navigating trauma. However, there’s a gap in society of safe places where people can linger with their grief and reflect on their loss. We exist to fill that gap with story-driven experiences.

Can my organization partner with We Go On?

Yes! We have worked with churches, schools, hospitals, and other organizations to help their communities become more relationally resilient. This has looked like in-person workshops or trainings for teams to navigate grief together and gain the tools to support others when tragedy strikes. Since every community’s needs are unique, we’ll work with your team to provide a custom-fit solution that best serves your people. Contact us at john@fullchannel.com to learn more.
